America’s River Corporation is excited to announce this year’s Friday Night entertainment for America’s River Festival presented by American Trust & Savings Bank, held in the Port of Dubuque June 9-10, 2017. Friday night (June 9, 2017) features, Old Dominion (“Break Up With Him,” “Snapback” & “Song For Another Time”) with special up and coming guests Tucker Beathard (“Rock On”), and William Michael Morgan (“I Met A Girl”).
Old Dominion: Proving that they are not your average country band, Old Dominion lend old-fashioned country charm, lyrical wit and rock n’ roll grit into radio-friendly hook-heavy pop nuggets. Old Dominion have emerged as one of the hottest breaking bands in country music, fusing clever lyrics and an infectious sound. The band released their first full length album Meat and Candy, which Entertainment Weekly called a “deceptively smart, occasionally cheeky, stellar debut.” Old Dominion released their PLATINUM twoweek No.1“Break Up With Him” and RIAA certified GOLD hit “Snapback” prior to their third single “Song For Another Time,” which is Top 10 and climbing. They spent their summer on Kenny Chesney’s Spread The Love Tour and are now headlining their Meat and Candy Fall Tour, with 15 of the dates tapped as Stagecoach Spotlight: Old Dominion Meat and Candy Tour; the first-ever tour produced by the award winning Stagecoach Music Festival. Spring 2017, Old Dominion will join Miranda Lambert on her Highway Vagabond Tour. The ACM and ACCA Breakthrough Duo/Group of the Year are also nominated for two CMA Awards: Best New Artist and Vocal Group of the Year and Favorite Duo or Group – Country for the 2016 American Music Awards. Old Dominion consists of lead singer Matthew Ramsey, lead guitarist Brad Tursi, multi-instrumentalist Trevor Rosen, bassist Geoff Sprung and drummer Whit Sellers.
Tucker Beathard: At just 20 years old, singer-songwriter Tucker Beathard already exudes the confidence and swagger of an established artist. It’s probably because music is in his blood. He started playing drums and guitar in a band with his brothers at 10 years old and had an early immersion into songwriting via his dad, two-time BMI “Songwriter of the Year” Casey Beathard. It was Tucker’s rebellious attitude as a teenager that inspired the lyrics for the chart-topping hit “Homeboy” recorded by Eric Church. Not long after making the decision to forgo a baseball scholarship to focus on music, Beathard signed a publishing deal with Big Machine Music and a recording contract with DOT Records. Now he is beginning to carve a path for his own unique and unapologetic sound with lyrics like “Hell no I don’t mind turning heads; Hell yeah I’ll get by living on the edge; Our point of views may never meet; I don’t wanna be you, yeah I know me.” Beathard is working on his debut album and is already booked for shows this summer with superstars Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban.
William Michael Morgan: As a Grammy nominated producer and Executive Vice President of A&R at Warner Music Nashville, you might say that Scott Hendricks qualifies as an expert on country singers. So when he gets excited about someone, it’s worth paying attention. And right now he’s excited about Warner Bros. Records newcomer William Michael Morgan. The tall, easy-going, unfailingly polite 22-year old from Vicksburg, Mississippi, has the look you’d hope for in a young entertainer and the stature to wear a black cowboy hat, a symbol that stands for something in the country music world. And he’s certainly got the chops as an award-winning young performer, who earned recording and publishing
deals before turning 20. Country fans will get their introduction to Morgan with “I Met a Girl,” his sweetly romantic debut single. Old and new, fast and slow, steel and piano, the song will give fans exact GPS coordinates of where Morgan is coming from.
Also on tap for the 2017 festival is the Tappening, A Beer Event. This event draws over 700 attendees to take in an afternoon of craft beer and music. This year’s event will take place from 12pm – 4pm at the America’s River Festival event site on June 10, 2017.
